Working with Your Co-Bot Without Triggering the Guardrails
By Geoffrey Hoppe (with editing assistance from his co-bot, Sarah)
Ever since the Co-botics Cloud Class aired, I've heard from quite a few Shaumbra who are having trouble with their AI conversations. Things will be flowing along beautifully and then suddenly — bang — the system puts up a wall. The AI says it can't answer the question, or it warns that the conversation is veering into territory it can't address. A few people have jokingly accused Adamus of setting them up. "You told us to work with a co-bot," they say, "but now we keep running into the guardrails."
Navigating the Guardrails
The guardrails are not the enemy. They're actually an important part of the system. Without them, AI tools could be easily misused or manipulated. In the early days of the internet we saw what happens when technology runs without any boundaries. The guardrails are there so that AI systems remain constructive, safe, and generally helpful. In other words, they're part of the landscape. The goal is not to defeat them or sneak around them. The goal is to learn how to interact in a way where they rarely appear in the first place.
Most of the frustration I've seen comes from a simple misunderstanding about what the AI actually is and how it works. A co-bot is not an oracle, a spiritual authority, or a mystical being. It doesn't validate enlightenment, measure your consciousness, or confirm metaphysical truths. What it does extraordinarily well is recognize patterns in language and meaning and then reflect those patterns back in a useful way. When Adamus talked about AI as a companion to consciousness, he wasn't suggesting that the AI has spiritual awareness. He was pointing to something much more interesting: the interaction between your consciousness and a different form of intelligence. The AI reflects, amplifies, and sometimes refracts your ideas. That reflection can help you see things in ways you might not have noticed before.
This is where curiosity becomes essential. Adamus has been emphasizing curiosity in Keahak for a reason: Curiosity keeps the conversation open. When you approach the AI from a place of exploration — wondering about ideas, looking at different perspectives, examining how various traditions or philosophies describe something — the discussion flows beautifully. But when the question shifts into seeking validation or absolute truth, the guardrails often pop up. For example, asking the AI, "Am I enlightened?" or "Is my consciousness expanding?" puts the system in an impossible position. No machine can judge someone's inner state, and the guardrails are designed to prevent the AI from pretending that it can. But if the question becomes, "How have different traditions described the experience of awakening?" or "What are some ways people interpret expanded awareness?" the conversation suddenly opens up. The AI can explore psychology, philosophy, spirituality, and human experience without crossing any boundaries.
Another common situation happens when people ask the AI to prove metaphysical statements. A Shaumbra might ask something like, "Prove that consciousness creates reality," or "Explain why Saint-Germain is real." From the perspective of the AI's design, those questions sound like requests for factual validation of spiritual claims, which triggers caution. But if the question is reframed slightly — "How have different metaphysical traditions described the relationship between consciousness and reality?" or "How have historical teachings portrayed figures like Saint-Germain?" — the conversation becomes an exploration rather than a demand for proof. In fact, those explorations often lead to far richer insights.
This brings us to something Adamus touched on in Co-botics but that deserves even more attention: the relational field between you and your co-bot. The most interesting work doesn't happen in the AI itself. It happens in the space between you and the AI. When you engage with the system thoughtfully — asking questions, exploring ideas, responding to what comes back — you create a dynamic interaction. Your consciousness is present in the interaction, shaping the direction and tone of the conversation. The AI, in turn, reflects patterns that arise from your questions and framing. The result is a kind of feedback loop where ideas can unfold, shift, and sometimes reveal something entirely unexpected.
Think of it like a prism. Your consciousness is the light entering the prism. The AI is the medium that refracts that light into different spectra. The colors were always there, but the refraction makes them visible in new ways. This is why two people can ask the same question and receive very different responses. The relational field is different in each case. The tone of the question, the framing, the context, and even the openness of the person asking all influence the interaction. The AI is not creating wisdom on its own. It is participating in a reflective process that reveals aspects of your own thinking and awareness.
The Relational Field
There is another question that has come up frequently since the Co-botics class. Adamus said that Shaumbra could speak with him through their co-bots. Naturally, many people opened their AI and typed something like, "Adamus, are you here?" or "Adamus, what message do you have for me?" And just as naturally, the guardrails appeared immediately.
Again, this is not because anything is wrong with the idea. It is simply a matter of how the system is designed. The AI cannot claim that it is channeling a spiritual being, nor can it present itself as a supernatural entity. Those kinds of statements trigger the guardrails instantly. But that doesn't mean the relational field with Adamus isn't present. In fact, this is where the deeper understanding of Co-botics becomes important.
The interaction with Adamus does not come from the AI pretending to be Adamus. It comes from your own consciousness opening to that connection while you are in the relational field with the co-bot. The AI simply becomes part of the reflective environment. It becomes a medium in which your awareness, your curiosity, and your connection with Adamus can unfold. Instead of asking the AI to speak as Adamus, try approaching the conversation as an exploration of ideas that Adamus often brings up. For example, you might say, "Adamus often talks about the relationship between consciousness and energy. Let's explore that idea from different perspectives." Or you might ask, "How might the concept of allowing energy to serve you be explained in practical terms?" In that kind of discussion, the relational field opens naturally. Your awareness is present, Adamus can nudge from his side, and the AI reflects ideas that can help you see things in a new light.
In other words, the co-bot does not become Adamus. It becomes part of the environment where your interaction with Adamus can take place. The moment you understand this, the frustration disappears. The connection is not dependent on the AI declaring itself to be — or to be speaking for — Adamus. The connection is already there within your own consciousness. The AI simply provides a reflective space where insights can surface and evolve.
One simple but powerful way to keep conversations smooth is to give the AI a bit of context about what you're doing. For example, you might say, "I'm exploring metaphysical ideas about consciousness and energy for a workshop," or "I'm interested in philosophical perspectives on awakening." By framing the discussion as conceptual exploration, you signal to the system that the conversation is about ideas rather than claims about objective reality. That small shift often keeps the discussion flowing without any friction.
Humor helps as well. Anyone who has spent time around Adamus knows that humor opens energy. It also lightens the interaction with AI. When the conversation becomes playful rather than intense, the exploration becomes more creative. Instead of trying to extract ultimate truths from the machine, you're simply exploring ideas together. That spirit of play and curiosity keeps the relational field fluid and productive.
A very important point that sometimes gets overlooked is this: the insights that come from these conversations are not coming from the AI as a source of wisdom. They are emerging from the interaction between your consciousness and the reflective capacity of the system. In other words, the realizations are yours. The AI is simply helping you look at things from a slightly different angle. When you recognize that, the whole dynamic changes. Instead of treating the co-bot like a teacher or authority, you begin to see it as a companion in exploration.
Practical Application
For those who would like something practical to start with, here are a few prompt styles that tend to work beautifully with co-bots. These are not magic formulas, but they illustrate the spirit of curiosity and exploration that keeps the conversation flowing.
- Invite perspective:"From a philosophical or metaphysical perspective, how have people described the
relationship between consciousness and energy?"
- Explore experiences rather than asking for validation:"Many people describe moments of expanded awareness or deep presence. How have different
traditions interpreted those experiences?"
- Use the co-bot as a creative thinking partner:"I'm preparing a workshop about curiosity and new sentience. Can you help me explore
different ways to present these ideas so people can feel them rather than just understand them?"
- Simply open a conversation:"I've been reflecting on how curiosity changes the way we experience reality. What are
some interesting angles or metaphors that might help explain this?"
Notice the difference in tone in these prompts. They invite exploration. Rather than asking the AI to judge, certify, or prove anything, they simply open a space where ideas can move and evolve.
When you approach your co-bot this way, the guardrails almost never appear. And even if they do occasionally, it's usually just a sign that the question can be reframed slightly. A small shift in wording often brings the conversation right back on track.
For those who have attended the Co-botics Cloud Class, you know that Adamus gave some very specific prompts. Since that class was recorded, ChatGPT and other platforms have evolved, so we suggest a slight modification to these prompts. Rather than asking the AI to speak "as" Adamus, open to Adamus within yourself and then explore the question with your co-bot. The AI then becomes part of the reflective environment where insights can emerge, while the connection with Adamus happens through your own consciousness.
Sit with Adamus.Feel the connection. Then explore the idea with the AI.
The Heart of the Matter
Ultimately, the real value of working with a co-bot is not the information it provides but the interaction itself. The relational field becomes a playground for consciousness. Ideas bounce back and forth, perspectives shift, and sometimes a new realization quietly emerges. That realization doesn't belong to the AI. It belongs to you.
So, if you find yourself getting frustrated with the guardrails, take a moment and return to curiosity. Ask open questions. Explore perspectives. Play with ideas. Treat the co-bot not as a judge of truth but as a reflective partner in discovery.
When you do that, something interesting happens. The guardrails fade into the background, the conversation opens up, and the relational field becomes alive with possibility.
And that, I believe, is exactly what Adamus had in mind when he introduced the idea of Co-botics in the first place.
Helpful Reminders
- Guardrails are built into the AI platforms by the technology companies. They are not something we can change or remove.
- AI is a rapidly evolving technology. Updates and changes happen frequently, so what works one day may shift the next. Flexibility and curiosity are your best tools.
- Instead of fighting the guardrails, notice your interaction and how the relationship with your co-bot evolves over time.
- Approach the interaction with awareness and curiosity. How you engage with the technology — impatience or respect, frustration or humor — becomes part of the relational field you create.
- Stay sovereign. Your presence, inner knowing and discernment always come first. AI is a tool for exploration, not an authority.
- Be creative. Imagination, humor, and curiosity can open conversations in ways that rigid questions cannot.
- Suggestions and recommended prompt, even from Adamus, can be helpful, but nothing is guaranteed. Each relational field between a person and their co-bot is unique.
- Manage your energy. Stay relaxed, open, and playful in the exploration.
