Award winning artist, Gail Austin, lives in Colorado, USA. Gail paints her natural surroundings that she loves so deeply. Her organic shapes and free flowing colors are easy on the eye and reflect the true inspiration and spiritual connection she holds so dear. Lost and found edges, layers and splashes of color, all can make a painting truly mystical and invite the viewers to tap into their own imagination. Her pieces can take you to another place and time, or connect you to Gaia and the natural rhythms of life.

Creation – The Island Of The Blue Monkeys (Volume 1 & 2)

Like many Shaumbra, I grew up among family and friends who had very little interest in exploring spirituality and consciousness. The vast majority of them still have no interest in such things.

However, like many of you I strongly desire to help the people in my life see the changes taking place in and around them from a positive and constructive point of view, rather than from a place of fear and uncertainty. There is a bigger picture, as you all know, and helping people see that bigger picture is a desire we all share. So I set out to write a story that introduces readers to the idea of a shift in consciousness.

The result is “The Island of The Blue Monkeys.” It is a two-volume story, with book one describing how a race of blue monkeys grows from a primitive and homogenous society to a complex civilization with all of the diversity and challenges the human race now faces. Book two then describes, symbolically, the ongoing transformation of the human race, individually and collectively.

One challenge I find in conversing with people in my life is how to explain the concept of old and new energy. By employing the symbol of different colored melons, this story describes how the monkeys, one at a time, awaken and embrace a new way of living, a new way of perceiving themselves (symbolized by the choice to try the strange new melons that begin to appear on their island). Not all monkeys embrace such changes, however, and the story shows quite clearly the conflict and trauma that result from clinging to the “old” way, from refusing to allow change to take place within themselves.

For any Shaumbra who would appreciate an allegory that simplifies and explains the shift to the new energy, I offer to you “The Island of The Blue Monkeys.” It is written in a very simple style, accessible to readers of all ages. And it is my hope that it can be one of the tools Shaumbra employ in their efforts to assist their fellow humans in understanding what is talking place on Earth today.

Shaumbra Creations Submissions Guidelines

Shaumbra creations submitted for launch in Shaumbra News must be new, i.e. created within the last few months.

The product or service must be YOUR creation. Please don’t submit books written by other people, music CDs created by someone else, or classes created by someone else (even if you are a facilitator). If your creation is a workshop or class, it must be a new series that you will offer on an ongoing basis.

The product or service must be available for Shaumbra to order today. In other words, the book must be printed, the music CDs ready to ship, classes must be open for immediate registration, etc.

To launch your creation please send the following information to [email protected]:

1. Contact information including your website and email address.
2. Description of your creation in 250 words or less (English only please). Shaumbra News reserves the right to edit your submission.
3. A digital photo of yourself
4. A digital image of your product. Images should be medium resolution, approximately 1000 x 1000 pixels. The files can be in JPEG, TIFF or GIF formats.

We will include as many new creations as possible each month but cannot guarantee that all submissions will be published.

Please note that each creation may be submitted ONE TIME ONLY. You can submit new creations at a later date but each creation will be listed only once in Shaumbra News.
