This piece is detail from my 'Tree of Love and is part of my 'Love Bird' series. It has been hand stitched is made from redeployed vintage fabric.
Having watched my mother stitch and sew from an early age, my passion for expression through texture, colour and fabrics on the human form has been a life-long love. Every piece that I make is done by hand and is lovingly stitched with hand embroidery, applique and other forms of embellishment. Each garment or accessory is unique and brings through particular energies that are special to that garment and the person who is going to wear it. Love is the main ingredient in each garment and is woven with the new energy into the very fibres and stitches of the piece. Pieces are available by commission and through various retail outlets. Sirius Alpacas is a family farm in northeast Ohio that raises alpacas. Fleeces from our alpacas are spun into luxury yarns that are often used by cottage and artisan knitters. We also import fair-trade alpaca wear and Andean wool and accessories from Peru and Bolivia. We love the spirit and style of the Andean culture. Alpaca was once the official textile of Incan Indian royalty. Today, we want to share the exquisite silky cashmere texture of alpaca with everyone. Alpaca socks, scarves, sweaters, mittens, fingerless gloves and blankets are among our most popular items.
